Research states that 78% of millennials would rather spend money on a desirable experience or event rather than buying something desirable and what better way to garner these experiences than travelling?travelling?
A travel blogger gets to have his cake and eat it too!
In the last decade, we have seen the sudden rise in the travel industry owing to the increase in disposable income and accessibility to destination not being a major concern anymore. With this change came in the opportunity to become a travel blogger.
The idea of becoming a travel blogger is something that all of us have surely considered and why not? A travel blogger gets to have his cake and eat it too! But what we fail to realize is the amount of work it goes into becoming a successful travel blogger.
A travel blogger for the longest time was considered the same as a copywriter for the basic reasons that they were both creating content that helped them sell a product (in the travel bloggers case, a tourist or off beat destination). After a lot of debate in the last few years, most people now have come to the conclusion that because only a few of the travel blogs are well researched and well written, travel blogging cannot be considered in the same league as copywriting. However, for creating and maintaining a successful blog, content and consistency are two things that cannot be compromised on.
These comparisons can nevertheless establish the idea that the job of a travel blogger does partially include the work of a copywriter, but it goes beyond that.
"While a copywriter can be called a wordsmith, a travel blogger is someone who not only is a storyteller, but also a photographer, video/photo editor, digital marketer, PR person and much more all wrapped into one."
To conclude, while the job of a travel blogger was derived from the copywriters, it is safe to say that with the constant changes and demand of the job, the job description includes a lot more than just a good storyteller.
